In the image of San Sebastian, eroticism and suffering come together in the beautiful body of a young man, which is pierced by arrows. For centuries, artists have been inspired by this image. My Sebastian is an abstracted male torso with holes, in the conical holes garnet stones have been placed like blood drops.

The concept of Occiput, which is the focal point of this exhibition, reflects Peters’ belief that true creativity does not arise from conscious or rational thinking, but from the deeper, intuitive realm of the occipital lobe, located at the back of the brain. While the occipital lobe is responsible for processing visual information, Peters uses it as a metaphor for the unconscious, where the most profound ideas and instincts reside.
In Occiput, Peters emphasizes that artistic creation flourishes when the artist lets go of forced thinking and allows the subconscious to take control. This process of intuitive creation results in the unexpected and the deeply personal, which is reflected in the abstracted blind drawings and sculptural works on display. Peters invites viewers to engage with these pieces on a deeper level, encouraging them to explore the complex intersections of art, intuition, and introspection.
